Antonio Martinez is based out of Hollywood, CA and has worked as an aerial arts teacher/instructor/choreographer throughout the US and abroad and currently teaches at Studio Institute Global in LA. Antonio is the Institutes’ 1st aerial professor and is credited with creating their aerial syllabus which has proven to prepare dancers for the growing demand for aerial arts in the commercial dance industry.
As a professional commercial dancer, Antonio first studied Jazz, Ballet, and Musical Theatre Dance at Oklahoma City University (same as Kristin Chenoweth) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in a Bachelor of Fine Arts with his Dance Degree and Spanish Language Degree. Antonio then started training aerial arts at Canada’s prestigious Toronto School of Circus Arts. While continuing his commercial dance training in LA, He also continued aerial training at Hollywood Aerial Arts. Antonio later began teaching Aerial Technique and Choreography, 1st for Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line, then for NCL Entertainment for their full-scale production shows. Antonio has taught aerial arts for Karmagraphy Dance Company and The University of Central Oklahoma. His most current work includes aerial choreographer/instructor to Singer Sangeeta Kaur for her live show “Niguma”, for Verizon’s “Lo Mejor De Mi Campaign”, aerial choreographer for Strong Production’s Nuskin Industrial, for “The Americana’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony”, and for The Bellagio’s NYE show with Infiniti Creative and Eplus Entertainment.
Antonio’s understanding of dance movement and his teaching methods allow him to share circus arts with students of all levels. His teaching style is similar to his choreography… strong, unique, and exciting while always focusing on clean technique and safety.
